BioPRO: Advancing Sustainable Automotive Seating

Innovation in automotive interiors is constantly evolving, and materials are at the heart of that change.

We’re proud to introduce BioPRO, our next-generation, protein-based moulded seat foam developed specifically for the premium automotive sector.

Containing 20% protein content recovered from our own manufacturing process, BioPRO reduces fossil-derived inputs while eliminating the need for additives such as melamine, bromine and PFAS. Lightweight, durable and naturally fire-resistant, it delivers the performance expected of luxury interiors, without compromise.

Each component is moulded precisely to specification, improving fit, reducing waste and enabling tailored comfort for design and engineering teams. At the end of its life in a car, BioPRO is fully recoverable, enabling a new-found level of circularity.

Originally launched for the aviation sector by our sister company Muirhead, BioPRO’s introduction to automotive marks another step forward in Scottish Leather Group’s commitment to responsible material innovation.
